Lucky Me!!!

Don't know where to start...but how lucky can a girl get???Pretty darn lucky if you ask me...I have a convention to attend in Orlando and while I was looking forward to that and the warmer weather, never in my wildest dreams did I realize that a Scrap Book Expo would be going on at the same time...Now if that isn't lucky enough I am going to have the opportunity to meet up with a couple of the wonderful online gals over at www.allmomentsremembered.com - Anne Marie and Jessica...how cool is that...I'm even taking an empty suitcase just in case I find some goodies at the Expos...Making sure my camera card is empty and my battery is on full charge...this is going to be sooooooo cool...I can hardly wait...instead of sending a flat scrapper they're getting the real thing...LOL LOL
Although I'm looking forward to this, I'm going to miss AMR MB...but I'll be back in time for the crop April 5th...I'll also miss my Friday/Saturday and Monday crop...but I'm sure I'll have more than enough pics to take to the crops when I get back...
But I'm sure not going to miss this Ohio weather...Hopefully we've seen that last of the snow for several months...
Well need to get stuff packed up and check off my list...Everyone have a great day...

Happy American Easter

While the majority of you will be celebrating Easter today, being Orthodox we celebrate Easter the first Sunday after Jewish Passover...I can't remember Orthodox Easter being a month later than American Easter...About ever 4 years both Easters fall on the same day...The grand kids just love being able to celebrate these two holidays...When I was growing up it was difficult explaining to my friends about the different holidays...Now, I think there's so much more understanding and knowing about all the differences in people's lives...Although there are times I'd like to go back to some of those childhood days where everyone knew everyone else...Church, schools, shopping, were right around the corner, sitting on front porches, playing jacks, jumping rope, scooters and all those things were a common sight in the neighborhoods...and I could go on and on...Of course I love all the modern technology...sometimes I wonder how things would be if we combined a little of each...
So today I'm going to try and accomplish a little of everything...plus I really need to catch up on leaving some love for the gals over at www.allmomentsremembered.com - I'm way behind on reading their blogs and the gallery....Also need to start getting things ready for our trip to Florida...I have a school board convention coming and need to get some last minute things done for that...like packing, canceling the paper, mail, doggies stuff packed up for her trip to my daughters and who knows what else...All these things to do and here I sit...
Wishing you and yours a wonderful Easter Sunday...Have a GRRRRRRRRRRRR8 day...

This has been a hectic and busy week since Monday, with no end in sight...I finally finished Lesson 3 from the digi class that I'm taking...I viewed the tutorial completely and then viewed it again to do my LO...I found that this worked better then just diving right in...Plus I was able to decide what pictures I wanted to use ahead of time...I have a little too much green around the 3 smaller photos...but was anxious to complete the project...
Monday started out with bringing my DGKs in town...I farmed one out to Papa's house and the rest came home with me...Thursday, one left town to be with Aunt D which left four...Two went back to Papas...think he was lonely...which left me with 2...Then those 2 went someplace, and the other 3 came back...Confused...I don't blame you...We've been busy, busy, busy...If we weren't crafting we were on the computer, eating, on the computer, eating and it just continued...You'd think they hadn't eaten in days...Which of course we all know isn't true...They are great kids...My DD and SnL have done a wonderful job raising them...I would not hesitate to take anyone of all 5 of them out on the town...I am so very fortunate...I have two older granddaughters and their mother has also done an EXCELLENT job raising them...They are beautiful well mannered young ladies...Again, I am so lucky...Well tomorrow the house goes back to being quiet...and the dog goes back to being the queen....and I'm going to settle down for a long winters nap....LOL LOL LOL...Have a wonderful Easter to you and yours...

Pre-School

This is Taylor in September 2005 at Pre-School...Since this was the beginning of the year there was just her and the two little guys...I really think she enjoyed being the only little lady there for the short period of time until other students were added to her class. Her teacher would always tell her that she was the most polite child she had ever met...

PS to my first post...

Forget to mention that stalking the mailman finally paid off...My Fiskars Scalloped Punch came today...Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...

Productive Day

I awoke this morning with plans of going to my scrap crop...As the morning wore on and I started packing up my stuff, I thought gee, time to lug this stuff down the steps outside and then when I get back home, I'll be doing the opposite...and then again on Friday or Saturday...I did manage to take a little less but still had lots of stop...Down the steps I went and out to the car and I was on my way...Now I didn't really accomplish alot as far as finished projects go, but I managed to organize some brads, consolidate some paper, (one of those things that I just don't do at home) get some papers etc picked out for 3 LOs, get some inchies cut to make a Mosaic LO for my Aunt & Uncle in June...They live in Florida and don't get to see the family that much so I thought this was a great way to get some use of those photos that didn't make it to the scrap page for one reason or another. Also managed to have a light lunch with a friends, packed up my stuff and even stopped at JoAnns looking for a bigger percentage off on their liquidation sale...but no luck...Back home has some dinner, drug all my stuff back up stairs, and now I'm going to sit down and take my PSE 6 class with Jessica Sprague...I feel good about the entire day. Hope you have a wonderful evening...

Let's talk Digi & Photoshop

Anyone that has not taken the plunge into digi scrapping needs to do so...At least try it and find out if it's for you. Personally I don't think I would totally go digi...I tend to like the hands on plus I need to use up all this "stuff" first and I don't think that is going to happen anytime soon...There is just so much information out there that I don't think I'll ever learn it all...Not just the digi part, but the photoshop part as well...I've posted another tutorial below...this one is about 7 minutes long and pertains to a PhotoCollage...Jessica Sprague makes it so easy to follow that I'm sure everyone will get the hang of things after the first try...I look forward to sharing things that I find that might be helpful make things easier for the next person...Hope you enjoy the video and stop back soon...

I finally finished...

my second class of Digi Scrappin with Jessica Sprague. Got stuck a few times yesterday and then finally decided it was time to walk away and come back again today. Just from the two classes I've had I'm thinking that the easiest thing to start doing is to listen to the lesson task by task and then go back and actually do them. I know it sounds like double work, but I think in the end it will help. I'm going to try that for next Monday's class and let you know. I did something wrong with the flourish in the upper left hand corner, but darned if I can figure it out. Here's the end result of yesterday's class and thanks for looking.

All Moments Remembered On-Line Crop Pics

This challenge required us to do a scraplift...I lifted from Jenn...Thanks Jenn...

In this challenge we had to use mono colors..This was the most difficult for me...but fun...

Here we had to alter a tag...My tag isn't altered all that much, but I sure had fun with this...was roflmao the whole time...

Never used paint before...so this was also fun and messy...plus we had to use 3 pics, 4 journalling tags, 3 embellies, and for extra "credit" write on a pic...This was definately way out of my comfort zone...but I did it, so that in iteself was an accomplishment...

Had a great time at the online crop yesterday. Lots of fun challenges and definately out of my comfort zone. I managed to complete all but two challenges. I'm planning on doing those sometime today. Lot of talent in the ladies at http://www.allmomentsremembered.com/. If you're not already a member, click on the link and head on over there. Check out the store. Stacey has some neat stuff there and I know you won't be dissapointed. The ladies are so encouraging and helpful. Thanks to the ladies that posted the challenges and to everyone that was able to participate. I had a GR8 time...

Sunny Sunday

Finally the sun is peaking through the clouds here in Ohio...Lots of snow on the ground and still quite chilly...Don't think I'm going out until Spring...LOL...Sure hope those few bulbs that were peaking out the ground managed to survive this blast of winter...Also hope that this is the last of it until next winter...For those of you in chilly weather, stay warm and drive safe...Those of you that are in nice warm weather...ENJOY...

Happy Birthday Kathy

Just wanted to wish a great big blogger Birthday for my friend Kathy. I met Kathy several years ago on an online chat group for Grief Recovery. I was lucky enough to be able to meet her several years back in person. Since that time, our lives have changed....moving, more moving, more moving, grand babies, more babies, and more babies. I believe she has 7 grand babies and another on the way and I have 7. She's a very wise person and has a wonderful outlook on life. I know her room mate is reading this and making faces. Although there many miles between us and we don't chat as often as we used to, I want to say that my life has been enriched in many ways by having here as a friend. So Kathy, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU and many more. And remember "you are not alone."

Years Ago

This is a picture of me from many years ago as in 1955. Unfortunately I think it looks better in person. I need to work on getting the photography box made so I can have better pictures of my LOs. It has some lace stick on at the top and bottom and then I made the flowers using the 3 different colors of the CS. Thanks for looking, have a great evening, and think SPRING.

AMR Challenge - Out of the box

Here's my challenge "Out of the Box" for www.allmomentsremembered.com. We were challenged to things that we normally don't use for whatever the reason. I'm very structured so I decided to try flourishes with clear stamps, crookedness, white space, 3 different PP on CS...I was reallllllly happy with the end result, until I decided to ink the edges of the poem, which I didn't remove, I just put some paper underneath it, and now I think it looks sloppy and also when I put our names on it...The writing wasn't too bad, I just don't think it looks right where it's at or even at all...Maybe should have used the cricut. Thanks for looking...

Dedicated to my Mother & Father

This is a LO of my mother and father the day they got married. I've had this photo for quite some time and just wasn't sure how to put it all together. I managed to pick out the BG paper but also knew it need something else. A fellow scrapper had the embossed fancy paper and it reminded me so much of her dress. I did some hand cutting on that to make it fit as we only had a small piece to work with. I chose like a metallic greyish/blue for the matting and the flourish (I think tht's what it would be called) I was too afraid to mess it up w/my calligraphy so my thanks to Miss Joni for doing that for me and to Suzanne for the fancy paper. Now I can put it in it's page protector for everyone to enjoy.

My First Digi LO

Today was the big day. Online Photoshop Elements with Jessica Sprague. How exciting this was. There were 6 tasks involved and since I've added the end result here, it means I complete all my tasks. I'm quite pleased with the end result, even though it's not the perfect picture. Having so many to choose from and not really knowing what we were going to be doing, I decided on this photo. Being able to have hands on while the video was going was wonderful. I was able to stop and start the video so I was able to keep up with what was going on. I feel that I've learned some great stuff here and I have 3 more classes to go. I would highly recommend this class to the beginner. Or even as a refresher course for those that are upgrading. Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Busy Weekend

Been kind of crazy for the last couple of days. Saturday morning I went to a basketball game for my 9 year old DGD Sydney. It's sponsored by their church and has different age groups. They play for 20 minutes with a break in between. The main purpose is to teach the kids the basics of the game and guide them with their sportsmanship. They do keep score, but the kids are told that more important than the end result is that they had a good time. I did manage to take some pictures, but haven't even looked at them yet. After the game I took my 6 year old DGD Taylor to my dads for any overnight visit. I then brought my 11 year old DGD Kayla back to my place for an overnighter. Kayla had been to a girls night out at one of her friends house on Friday evening, so she rested her eyes for about an hour before dinner. We got Chinese for dinner, which is one of her favorites. After that we gathered our scrap stuff up and off to an evening crop. She was able to accomplish 3 pages and I believe I have about 5 pages, that need either the journalling or the title. We went to what I call a quaint scrapbook store. Lots of ideas, stuff for sale, plus I feel real comfy there. Both of us seemed to wind down before our time there was up,but that was ok as we needed to be up for church in the am.
After church on Sunday, they had a pancake and sausage breakfast which we stayed for and was mmmmmmmm, mmmmmmmmmm, good. A quick stop at home to pick up a LO that a friend of mine was going to do the writing on with her beautiful calligraphy. Kayla then took off with the Mr. Dave and the pooch for a walk in the park and a stop at the school. I stayed to chat with Miss Joni while they were gone. Our visits are never short as we all get to talking and the time just flies by. Kayla and Mr. Dave decided they wee going to spend some time out in the snow filled backyard. So I thanks everyone headed home. DGD will return around 5 ish and then we'll head off to pick up her sister and then head in the direction of taking them home. Somewhere in this time bracket I'll need to stop at the store for a couple of things and of course check out the sale action at JoAnns. Yesterday their items were only down to about 20% off. Still lots of things in the store, but I'm still waiting for big price drop.
This evening will try and catch up on the message board over at www.allmomentsremembered.com. I also some somewhere where there's some great new items in the store. Check it out.
Thanks for stopping and have a great evening.
