Time Sure Has Flown...

I can't believe it's December 4th already...Seems like I just posted yesterday but it's been over 3 weeks...

Really don't have much to share...I've been busy...Plus I was down and out for several days with a cold/flu and what ever other bug decided to join the group...Feeling better that I was, but not where I'd like to be...

It's crunch time for me for sure...I have scads of things I need to get done along with several things on the daily calendar...

I decided that it's time to do a MAJOR purge around here...I've been in my home for 35+ years, which means I've accumulated a lot of stuff...Along with collecting things...A major wake up call for me is realizing that my kids nor my grand kids are going to want any of this stuff...I remember telling my own mother "that's not my style" or "I don't like that."  So I figured before I hear that from everyone, I'd bite the bullet and start tossing stuff on my own...My major purge is in my upstairs dormer...Three huge closets full of stuff...I managed to get one closet cleaned out and in the process of putting things back in there...Got rid of a huge TV along with an empty box for a TV, but it didn't fit the TV that was in there, so go figure...My next closet is the Christmas Closet...I've managed to take everything out...I have approximately 9 large tubs full of stuff...So far I've managed to toss some stuff, Goodwill other stuff, and there are a few things that I plan on keeping...Tree and Christmas trimmings will be cut way down...As much as I love the Christmas season with all the bright festive colors, I'll never ever be able to display all the stuff I have...End result, lots needs to go...That being said, I probably won't tackle the 3rd closet until after the holidays...This way I can get all that stuff packed and put away for next year...

Need to find time for a couple of Christmas Projects that I need to get done...I have everything I need, I just haven't sat down and done it...

Christmas Card labels are done...Some generic cards went out in the mail a couple of days ago...I just finished completing 6 handmade cards, which have also be signed, sealed, and ready for delivery in tomorrow's mail...Probably about 30 more cards totaled to get out the door by Sunday...Or at least I'm hoping...Think I need to venture to the store, for a box of generic cards as I know people don't save homemade cards and as much as I enjoy making them, the thought of them just being tossed makes me sad...I'm sure my creations aren't as beautiful as others, but I do take the time to try and create something everyone will enjoy...But of course, not everyone things the same way I do, when it comes to handmade items...

Well I think I've babbled on long enough, it's late, and I have lots I want to accomplish in the day...Until my next post, be safe...

My Personal VENTS...

People that go the wrong direction in a parking lot when it's clearly marked with an arrow...And I do realize that now and then it happens accidentally...but come on now...there are some that just don't care...and then they expect you to move...

People that wait in line at the store and then after everything is rung up, decide to dig not just for their money, but for their coupons...Let's be prepared...

People that get to the checkout and after all is said and done don't have enough money and then start to pick and choose what to return...

15 items or less and cash only means exactly that...and that's 15 unduplicated items...

Common courtesy...what happened to please, thank you, excuse me, your welcome, I'm sorry, and the list goes on...

People that just "stop" in the middle of an isle at the store...either just stand there or decide it's time to chat with someone they met in the isle...

Parents that let their children run wild through the store..either touching and licking the fruit that's out, pulling stuff off the shelves, running into others with the carts that they are allowed to push and again the list goes on...and the parents/guardians they think nothing of it, and are  immune to what their child is doing, or think it's just plain cute...There's a time for cuteness and doing these kinds of things is not it...

There are cross walks for a reason...but do people use them...NO...they just cross where ever they want...but then if they get hit, it's the drivers fault for not paying attention...

Our streets are full of trash...people throwing things out of windows...emptying their ashtrays on the side of their cars and again the list goes on...Aren't you PROUD of your country???

I love having a cell phone, but I don't want to listen to your "loud and sometime personal" conversations...

Let's have some common courtesy when doing personal business and make or take that cell call after you're out of the bank, the restaurant, or the check out lines...

Telemarketers...

People that don't use their blinkers...

Having an appointment and being kept waiting way beyond what I think is a reasonable amount of time...but you be late for your appointment and they will either charge you or won't take you...

That call back from the consumer that never comes...

Repair people that are late and think nothing of it...Why do we have to make an appointment then???

Weathermen that tell you repeatedly what to do or not to do in case of inclement weather...Like duhhhhhhhhhhhh has it changed since last year???

And these are just a few...

I get so...

discouraged at times with my "crafty" abilities...or maybe I should say "lack of" ability...I have all the bells and whistles and yet I struggle with a layout or making a card...Unless I can lift it, I'm screwed, and even then I can't seem to get things right...Most people say that I'm too hard on myself...and in some part that's true...I try so hard...I take my time...I measure...and all those other things that you're supposed to do and I'm either crooked...cut too short...not straight in my placement...run out of room...don't have all the right letters...and the list goes on...

Some people say that if you're not enjoying your hobby that maybe it's time to quit...I do enjoy it...I just wish I was better at it...I'm scrapping so All Moments are Remembered and I'm hoping that down the road, my grandchildren will say "WOW" at all these creations...

Someone needs to create a scrap room where the scrapper sits in the middle of the room and their supplies are on a turnstile and with just a push of the button or the tap of a foot the supplies will just go around and around...This way, I wouldn't forget about all the stuff that I have and hopefully be able to use more and more of it as time goes on...

I did participate in 2 weekend long crops and even though I thought I packed carefully and planned things out, I still could have used "more" stuff...All in all, I believe I completed about 15 layouts...I have 1 more weekend crop coming up in November and I'm trying to decide if I want to work on Thanksgiving and Christmas cards or finish up some UFOs (unfinished objects) or create some new ones...I do have a few new photos and I know when I go through my stash there will be "new" paper to use...Meaning that it's paper I've forgotten I've had...

On the other hand, I'd really like to mass produce some Thanksgiving cards for my family and complete my Christmas cards...I have some made but I believe I might need a few more...I've gotten to the point that I only send my handmade cards to people that I think will appreciate the time, thought, and effort that goes in to making them...Sorry to say, the rest get generic cards as I know most people just toss them...There are a few people that will recycle and use them for tags on gifts for next year, but file 13 sees most of them...

Well it's been a long day and I have a fur baby that isn't feeling up to par so I need to check on her...Have a great evening and be safe...

TGIF...

I have a 2 day in real life aka IRL crop  this Saturday and Sunday and I am so looking forward to going...I've been packing up kits for a couple of weeks now...Some are my infamous UFO's aka UnFinished Objects and others are some CAS aka Clean and Simple Layouts that I've been wanting to do...

I'm still on my freeze, so I've been trying to kit up things from my stash...To be honest it's kind of like surprise shopping around here...We had the carpet removed from my scrap room several months ago so a lot of the stuff was put in the closet...Since we're planning on doing some basic peel and stick  up her, I haven't put that much back in the room as we'd have to be moving it again...Hence, forgot what I had and I've been  having fun finding things again...

In the perfect scrap room, everything would be at my finger tips...Like maybe I'd be on a turn style with my work table and then just be able to go around pick up all the little extras without leaving my chair...Not that I'm lazy, it's just that I really forget a lot of times what I actually have...

I'm hoping to make a few CAS Halloween cards this weekend too...I know I can only send out so many cards, but I get hooked on seeing all the cute stuff everyone is making and of course I have a stash of Halloween paper and embellies to use...Think I'll take my envelopes, address labels, postage stamps, and just put the cards right into the mail for my grand kids...

My goal this weekend is do get at least 20 layouts completed...Wish me luck...And I'll let you know how if I accomplished this goal...

Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend...

It's all Relative

This layout was formerly an UnFinished Object aka as UFO...I love the papers and the photo...I definitely struggled with a title as I either didn't have enough letters in the package to fit the title, or I didn't have, what I thought, was the right color...

I really wanted to use the title "Grand" kids...as this is a photo of myself and my 2 oldest grandchildren...but the letters just weren't there...I finally found the pinkish letters in part of my "stash" that I was planning on getting rid of...The were the perfect color...But now that the LO is together, I'm not sure I like the size of the letters on here...It's like separately I like it, but together I don't...Strange...I did get a comment from a scrapbook forum that I frequent and someone suggested a butterfly w/some pink in it...So I'm on a mission for that...lol...Anyhow...you be the judge and leave a comment...Thanks for looking and have a great day...

Pork Chop Recipe

For years whenever I've made pork chops they have turned out dry...No matter what I tried...Found a simple recipe that I tried on Wednesday...As of this second this will be my go to recipe...I do have another one I want to try, but until then this is it...Simple, simple, simple, which is what I like...

4 boneless chops, 1 T Olive Oil, 1 Cup bread crumbs (your choice of kind that you use), 1 Cup Parmesan Cheese, 1 tsp Garlic Powder ...Coat the chops in your olive oil...mix all dry ingredients,  then dip chops in the dry ingredients..put in pan at 350 in the oven, uncovered for approximately 45 minutes...Also line the pan with tin foil and then spray pam or the brand of your choice over the tin foil...I had 8 chops and was going to double the dry mixture, but once I saw how much it made by only doing it as a single recipe, I changed my mind...We had more than enough dry mixture left over to have done another 8 chops...we ended up tossing it...

Had buttered noodles, apple sauce, green beans, and it was YUMMY...

I found this particular recipe on Pinterest...

Fall Scrapbook Layout

Here's a layout that I did for a fall mood challenge...I took these photos at the Stone Trough in Ohio...The gal has several different craft shows through out the year...Depending on the weather and the weekend/s she has the Christmas one, I'd really like to venture out for a one tank trip...
Since I'm on a "scrappy" freeze, I found this piece of PP in my stash...I thought the colors were perfect and I'm quite pleased how this all turned out...
Thanks for looking and enjoy your day...

I honestly hate...

shopping...Since planning our vacation, I knew that I would need a few things...The majority of them being "unmentionables" and sox...I sox were easy...as I'm not that particular, but let me tell you, I've had so much difficulty with the rest...I know what I want, know the sizes, but I'm unable to locate in the local stores...I opted for an online purchase, only to find out after waiting and waiting, that the item was unavailable...Believe it or not, I received a refund in record time...I was impressed...I now have 2 different emails to Playtex and WalMart looking for the other product...So far neither has responded...which is very frustrating...I even sent an image of the packaging so that there would be no question as to what I was specifically looking for...Oh well, I'm at their mercy and everyone else's at this point...
Hoping to get some "scrappy" time in tomorrow along with some more purging...
Have a good night...

Who Knew???

Well I certainly didn't...In the past when I traveled, I would purchase travelers checks/cheques...Since I haven't traveled for ages and I'm now in the process of planning a trip, I just figured I'd get travelers checks and that would be that...Well, my bank no longer carries them, AAA no longer carries them, Ken's bank no longer carries them...Several banks in our area carry them, but only for people that have accounts there...So, I decided to look up American Express as that's where they come from...Lo and behold, they have you put in your zip etc to see what places near your area has them...Well did that, be there, done that, and no one carries them...So then I looked for a phone # for American Express...well that was a joke...as I couldn't find one...so then I looked up to see what you would do if you had the checks and they were lost, and it said to contact American Express Customer Service bla bla bla...LOL...tooooooooo funny, as there was no number...so like how would a person contact them...Then I decided to call the Chamber of Commerce in Las Vegas, as that's where were headed, and they weren't sure what the local casinos did, so they transferred me to the Casino/Hotel we would be staying and the answer is NO, they no longer accept them...So I was on a curious mission and called several other places and got the same answer...Through all this, the end result is...carry cash (which I really don't want to do), use an ATM card where they will charge you for every transaction), use a credit card (where they will also charge for that), try and write a check and there is a charge for that, get one of those pre-paid cards and there's still a charge for that...so all in all, as of this posting, I'm screwed no matter what I decide to do...
I realize that a lot of people don't read my blog, but if I can save one person from going through the hassle that I went through, it will be well worth it...
So that's my story and I'm sticking to it...
Enjoy your day...Off to watch Monday Night Football...

"Scrappy" FREEZE...

Heavens knows that I have lots of bells and whistles for my "scrappy" habit...I have decided to go on a "FREEZE."  Yup that's right...I haven't bought that much stuff in ages, so it should be relatively easy...I know my stuff isn't all that current and I'm sure I have lots that has been retired, but I bought it because I liked it and it's time to start using it...I also need to remember to start using my ribbon, buttons, flowers, punches, and all those other goodies that I just had to have...I ran in spurts buying things...My purge on scrappy supplies has been completed so now it's now time to "use my stash."  I also had a scad of pre made kits that I have finally completed using...now I need to create on my own...Which is kind of funny, as I don't do well on my own...I am a lifter...I think I have good intentions, but when it comes to putting it all down I'm a mess...Two places that I look for lifts are www.scrapbook.com and Pinterest...I have also concluded that unless I am absolutely sure that I'm going to create what I find on Pinterest, I don't pin it...Just cleaned out all that stuff too along with the file folder that I have with layouts to lift...
I have 3 weekend IRL (in real life) crops coming up and I'm starting to put together kits to take with me...Makes things much easier...I also coincide with my friend Chris regarding who's bring what so that we don't duplicate...this way we have plenty of "stash" to use...
Well all most time to watch the Packers...Hope everyone had a wonderful day...
Till next time...CRAFT ON...

Things are starting to...

wind down for camping...Which means finding room for all the stuff that will need to come home...This is when I usually have duplicate of everything from soup to nuts in the cupboards...Pots, pans, dishes, and stuff like that stays out there...Clothes, bed linens, and food make there way home...Lots of stuff, such as cleaning supplies, bed linen, and stuff like that just get washed, cleaned up and put in the box for the spring...But the fact remains that it still needs to have a place until then...
Been doing a lot of purging of paper work, clothes, dishes and the list goes on...I've been retired 8 years now and all though I know I've done a lot around here, it seems like it never ends...Where all this stuff has come from is beyond me...LOL...

Purged a lot of stuff from scrapbook and card making too...If a new scrapper/card maker asked me where do they start in this wonderful hobby, I would tell them for scrapbooking to buy kits...Everything you need is usually there and it all matches...Card making, I would tell them to pick one product line and stick with it...Of course that would be Stampin Up...and if you are that new card maker, here's a link to a great gal that just happens to sell Stampin Up...and if you're an old hat at card making, still stop in and see Chris...besides being a GREAT friend she has some awesome ideas to share...Here's a link to her personal blog too...ENJOY...

I can't believe that it's been...

over a year since I've posted here...No excuses...Not that I get that much traffic here, if any, but I must say I did enjoy posting things...

A little update on what's been going on...Have had issues with both of my knees...knee surgery took care of that...It's been a long road, but it is being well traveled...I'm still camping...The season is all most over so it will be time to close up soon...seems like it just started...weather hindered the first six weeks for sure...I'm still scrapbooking...making cards too...Have 3 IRL crops coming up in October and November...Also have a trip to Vegas planned in the near future...Grandchildren are growing like weeds...I'm trying to keep up with the latest trends in the world of scrapbooking, but I tend to go back to my pretty much plain and simple style...Had the carpet removed from my upstairs and my basement...consider vinyl planking in the upstairs...which is where my scrap area is...I like the look it will give the room, just not sure if I'm willing to spend those kinds of dollars...Ken and I will put peel and stick in the basement...Have had carpeting down there for years and now that the dogs are getting older, it was time to have it removed as the upstairs...I spend more time in the scraproom than the downstairs, even though it's finished...More of a man cave now...lol...I'm still frequent a couple of scrapbook forums...more active on one than the other...then I pretty much lurk at a few others...Hard to believe too that Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas will be upon us before you know it...Christmas is by far my favorite...I love decorating my house and it just seems to perk things up...Nothing fancy or expense, just me and my decorations...Really don't get that much company for the holidays except Christmas Eve when the family is here...I do it for me...Been doing a lot of purging around the house...I've lived here over 30 years and there comes a time when somethings gotta go...Figured it might as well be me and save some work for my kids somewhere down the road...Pretty much have all the rooms done except for the basement and attic...I've done more in the basement but still needs to be gone over...My upstairs closets are the ones...those are the catch alls and believe me they have caught a lot over the years...I've also been going through all my "scrapiness" and getting rid of lots of things...Some of it's just gone in the trash, other stuff to the art room at the local elementary school, and some other stuff I will take to the IRL crops and put out on the for sale table...Maybe I'll make a few extra dollars to spend on some more scrap stuff...lol...Well this pretty much sums things up and I think I've babbled long enough...

I'm really going to try and post more often...

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day...

Congrats Scrap your Scraps on...

your opening day, June 1, 2014...wanted to post this then, but was having issues with my computer...probably more operator error than anything...lol...

If you haven't already done so, head on over to http://scrapyourscraps.blogspot.fr/ to see what the fuss is all about...

I for one just loved the pocket cards that Mandy shared with us...making up some of those cards will not only use up some scraps but will remind  me to use my sewing machine...I am definitely inspired...

A huge shout out to Solange Jacquet for putting this all together...I can hardly wait to see what the rest of the month has for us in store...I am so proud to be a part of this team...

Looking forward to seeing you at Scrap your Scraps...A link to the site is also here on my blog...See you there...

Scrappy Wednesday

The majority of my scraps are used for making cards...

Not sure about you, but when I first started to scrap I saved everything...I mean everything...well as I soon found out, that was overwhelming...I still save scraps, but there is a method now to my madness...It took me a little time to get this organized like this, but once I did, it's definitely a breeze in finding something that I could use...No scrappy time was taken for this, as I accomplished this feat while watching TV...

I normally do not save anything smaller than 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches...When I have a scrap, that is just a little bigger than the size mentioned, I tend to cut it down to size right then and there, instead of putting it in the scrap pile...to me it saves time...

If I have left over scraps from a kit, I put those all in a baggie...this way, I'm not looking for matching items when making a card...

My PP scraps go in a separate folder...A little harder to organize, but at least they are together...

My CS scraps go in individual folders...Green, Brown, Orange, Red, etc...

Believe it or not, I do find stuff in my stash that  I now think is UGLY...Those go in a baggie that I then take to the IRL crops with me and they go on the freebie table or PIF table...

Have fun...

Exceptionally Excited and Honored...

I have been chosen to be one of the contributors to "Scrap Your Scraps" Blog for the next 6 months...To say that I'm excited and nervous is putting it mildly, since I know there were lots of applicants...I'm definitely the "grandmother" of the group...lol...I'm looking forward to learning and sharing...Here's a link to the site, if you'd like to check it out...I'm still learning all the ins and outs on my end. so I hope I did this right...

Also, congrats to the rest of the contributors...Looking forward to a fun filled 6 months learning and sharing...

Scrappy Tips

Not sure how many people use wood stamps anymore, but I found that if I coat the wood block with clear nail polish, either before or after adhering the stamp itself, it tends to be easier to keep the block a little cleaner...

Don't know about you, but I've dropped my brads/eyelets many times and have had one heck of time picking them up...Don't take another second away from you crafting doing that...I found that some scissors have a magnetic tip and will help in picking those up...I have fiskars...Another tip is try using a bingo wand...That works wonder too...especially if it's a big spill it picks up more than the scissors...

When using embossing powder, I've tried all those little containers etc. that they have for spillage...for me the best is using a page from an old magazine...the powder doesn't seem to stick to the page and definitely goes back into the container a little easier...

Garage sales are perfect places to find that old dictionary that your may be looking for along with being priced reasonably...

Phil Dawson #4

I for one wish Phil all the luck in the world...He is one classy player that stayed true to the Browns for all these years...
After our team was taken from Cleveland and then returned, Phil has remained faithful to the Brown's fans...I for one, appreciate everything he did for this team...but he is only 1 man...what happened to the rest of the players???  Anyone would love to make the dollars these players make...Phil earned his and then some...you earned a spot in my heart for being ever so faithful...
I certainly hope that before he retires he's able to have a Super Bowl ring placed on his finger...It is long over due and and well deserved...
Wishing you all the luck in the world...I will miss you, but will always cheer for you...

Using Washi Tape & Mr. Huey's

Well I took the plunge and now have some Washi Tape and Mr. Huey's...Now it's time to take a deep breath and use these items...All I've accomplished is making some cards...I'm still consider myself a novice in using both of these items...I'm a scrapper and card maker that can't create on their own, therefore I need inspiration...All of the cards are lifts from either Splitcoast Stampers, Two Peas, Pinterest, or Scrapbook.com...Used lots of scrap paper trying to get just the right pressure on Mr. Huey's otherwise I had a mess...So thanks to everyone for my inpsiration...I hope I did your ideas justice...TFL...

Misting Technique

I might be late to the game and everyone already does stuff like this, but just in case, wanted to share...I just watched this video about misting and thought it was awesome on how she did this...
Plus she doesn't use a cutter, she just eyeballs and then cuts away with her scissors...Enjoy...
Also want to say that I found this on Two Peas in a Bucket...Thanks for the inspiration...

Some New Stuff...

A couple of LOs that I started at my Saturday Crop and finally put the finishing touches on them at home...I have like 3 more to do...The crop is 7 hours long and I try to pack up kits to get me through...Most of the time I add the journaling or the title once I get home...This saves me from having to take everything but the kitchen sink...So far it's been working out well...Haven't posted any of my LOs for a long time, and decided I need to start posting more and more...I did get my inspiration from Becky Fleck Page Maps 2...Thanks again Becky...I just wish my camera would take better photos...They seem to look so much better IRL...Thanks for looking and enjoy your evening...

Looking for something new???

Then head on over to the http://gelatinstamps.blogspot.com/ to see all the fantastic ideas on how to use their stamps...Gel-a-tins has been taken over by Bonnie and it's a whole new start for the stamps...I have the opportunity of being a "Guest" Designer for her for the month of March...I created 3 cards and one of them is currently being featured on her blog...The stamps come in the cutest tin ever and I found that to be a fantastic way to store them...I plan on stamping the images of each stamp on a card and then adhering that card to the top of the tin...This way I can just look at the tin to see what's inside...I decided to use white pigment ink on my card and I just loved how it turned out...Another thing I just loved was the fact that I have a bad habit of not cleaning up my stamps and blocks immediately after usage...This time was no different...When I finally did take them down to be washed, I just used warm water, an old toothbrush to get in the nooks and crannies on the stamps, and let dry on a paper towel...they adhered back on their backing beautifully and when I went to use the stamps for another card it stuck right back to the block like it had never been used...To be honest, that doesn't happen with a lot of the clear stamps I've purchased...Here's a photo of my card and if you want to check out all the other design team members creations, just head on over to the blog...Thanks for stopping in and hope to see you again...Have a wonderful day...

Scrapbook Inspiration

Not sure about all the scrappers our there, but my inspiration doesn't come easy...Unfortunately I have a hard time creating without something visual in front of me...I have an envious jealousy for those that can just sit down and no matter what it just all flows...My stuff flows alright, downhill...So I have had to resort to other means of getting the creativity flowing...I have purchased both Page Map Books by Becky Fleck and they are two of the best purchases I have ever made...A friend of mine and I have challenged ourselves with her Page Map 2 book by completing 2 layouts each week until how ever long that takes us...
I spend a lot of time at http://www.scrapbook.com/ going through their gallery...since I've become more of a paper snob, I tend to search for the paper line that I happen to have and get inspiration from that...
So a huggggggggggge thank you to Becky Fleck and to the scrappers at http://www.scrapbook.com/ for your inspiration...
I am not signed up at http://www.scrapbook.com/ but I always manage to give credit to the site for their inspiration...
If you haven't already done so, I highly suggest you take some time out to check out both of these for your inspiration...
Have a great day...

Digi Quick Pages

I am in love with Digi Quick Pages...If you are a scrapper ad you have one photo that is just awesome and nothing to go with it in your stash, the quick page is the way to go...Don't get me wrong, I love playing with paper, but by the time I would go out and get a stash for one photo, would definitely cost more than the cost of having an 8 x 8 digi quick page printed out...Yes you could use what you purchase for another paper layout, but then again, it could just sit there collecting dust, never to be used again...Of course, it's up to every one's individual preference...My preference is a quick page...Plus there are so many awesome FREE pages out there...don't forget to give credit to the person that created the page...follow a blog hop...you never know what you'll find...If you prefer to take it a step farther, than you can make your own digi page...I'm still learning and as with most things, practice, practice, practice is a must...Also save, save, save your work...even the most proficient people in the digi world will tell you, don't forget to save your work...I would also recommend an external hard drive if you are in to any digi stuff...backing up your files is another thing...If a couple of days goes past and I haven't worked on a quick page I tend to forget some of the easy steps...The other day was no exception...I payed around for quite sometime before I decided to search for some help...I found one of the best and easiest to follow quick page tutorials and I would like to share that with you...Here it is in all it's glory and I am sure you will agree it's easey peasey to follow...Here's the quick page I created...Thanks for looking, have a wonderful day, stay safe, and enjoy...

Digi Quick Page

I've been doing a bit a dabbling in Digi Quick Pages...Still learning the ropes...Plus there's many freebies out there for you to try before you jump into buying digi kits etc...What I do like about it is that it's free, you can fix a mistake quickly, you can color coordinate much better, no sticky mess and several other reasons...I do like the end result and I have had some of the quick pages printed out in 8 x 8...Once printed I found that although I liked the end result, I missed the feeling of working with the paper, flowers, punches and all those other fun things...Digi pages printed out, also are just flat...you see the depth...but not like doing a paper page...Of course people like or dislike things for different reasons...this is just my personal opinion...I also like the fact that I seem to do better using multiple photos when I do a digi quick page...but then again, everyone has their own preferences for their own reasons...

Here's a QP that I did using a freebie from Connie Prince - A License to Drive...

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend...

Happy Monday Everyone...

Wanted to wish everyone a happy Monday morning...I'm going to be starting off the New Year with eating healthy...besides I need to loose a few pounds...also going to be dusting off the treadmill and my goal is going to start at 15 minutes of walking...doesn't sound like a lot, but it's better than nothing...Personally I'd rather walk outside because at least I feel like I'm going someplace, but the weather hasn't been too accommodating for doing that...I'll start some laundry and then walk to the beat of the washer...
Completed my first layout of 2011 today...Opened up a brand new album...Need to put some dates on the other albums too...I don't scrap in any order so I at least want people to see the difference in the pages as the years have gone by....
Want to attempt to change my blog to look a little more appealing...I like the look of other blogs with 3 columns but I just can't seem to understand how to do that...so maybe I'll be able to find something basic that will work...I'm sure changes have been and many updates on blogger that I could use...
Also want to start including more tutorials that I have saved in my favorites...for no other reason than to share and maybe keep myself on a roll with trying new and different things too...
Again, enjoy your Monday...

Happy New Year's Eve...

Here's wishing everyone a Healthy and Prosperous New Year...Enjoy your evening, stay safe, and see you next year...

Ramblings..

Although I have not kept up with my blog on a daily basis, I think I've done better than last year...Seems like there's not enough hours in the day to do all the things I want to do...One thing I have noticed is several people that return on a regular basis...What I'd like to know is what is everyone looking for??? Scrapping, digi, photography, PSE, card or whatever info??? I'm jack of all trades, but master of none...I have scads of tutorials on different things that I've either done or want to do...I'm a scrapper at www.scrapdailly.com. I frequent there on a daily basis...I do lurk at other, much larger, boards looking for tips, tricks, techniques, how to and who knows what else...So if you could leave me a comment or two and give me an idea of what everyone is interested in, it would certainly help me...I'm sure I will post again before the New Year, but just in case, wishing you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Healthy/Safe New Year...

A HUGE THANK YOU...

As a scrapbooker and card maker I tend to look for inspiration on the internet...And I must say that I'm very lax in thanking those people that I get that inspiration from...When I see something to lift, I'm usually forget to write down where I got it from and whom the creator was...Downloading digi kits is the same thing...Lots of places you need to be a member, sign up, etc etc etc...I have so many user names etc that I'm sorry to say, it's much easier to lurk...All that being said, I would like to take this opportunity to thank "everyone" for posting their creations, for people like me that can't think on their own...I certainly do mention that it is a lift whenever I post something...One of the places I find myself frequenting a lot is www.scrapbook.com
You can search their gallery for just about anything and be happy w/the results...
Tips and techniques is another think I surf for and that I usually find over at Two Peas or Splitcoast Stampers...
My "scrappy" time is spent at www.scrapadilly.com
Speaking of them, they're having an online crop starting today...so if you're looking to get scrappy and make new friends hop on over and join us for a week of scrappy fun...
Again, a HUGE HUGE thank you to everyone for all their inspiration, tips, tricks, techniques, friendships, and more...
Have a wonderful day...

PSE6 Tutorial

I've been trying to learn more about PSE6 and making things easier when it comes to multiple pictures on a LO...I found a GREAT FREE tutorial along with a layered template by Ali Edwards...I found the best thing for me was to use the same photos over and over to practice with...Of course I've saved the originals just in case...One thing I can say is practice, practice, practice...I tend to run the tutorial in the background and switch back and forth...A little time consuming, but that's what works best for me at this point...Tomorrow, I'm going to do the tutorial once again, this time I'm going to try not looking and just listening as I create...Another thing you might try is just watching the tutorial and then creating...This might work better especially if you are more familiar with PSE6 than I am...One of the things I love is to share what I've found...Here's the link...Enjoy...

Confusion...

I'm sure someone out there can help me out...I keep getting comments that I can't read...Almost like wingdings...I don't want to assume it's "trashy" stuff...but I have been deleting them...If it's someone leaving comments in their own language, I need to know how to read it...Just thought I'd ask...Enjoy the rest of your evening...

TOOT TOOT TOOT

One of those most exciting things for me is to submit my LOs to various places in the hopes of being published...I pride myself in being able to hit the submit button...I've been published a total of 3 times now...Once in CK for a tip to apply clear nail polish to your wood stamps prior to using as it helps keep the wood cleaner from the ink after stamping...Of course, I think wood stamps are far and few in between now, with all the clear stamps out there...The second time I had a LO featured in http://www.scrapbooking.com/ of my dad from when he was in the Navy...That was probably a couple of years ago...Well lo and behold I was selected once again by http://www.scrapbooking.com/ to be featured in their July online issue...of course I'm ecstatic...My LO is titled Captivating...For those of you that have yet to enter any of your LOs, cards, or other crafting projects, please don't hesitate to do so...it's a good feeling to know that no matter what, you tried...and if you are picked it's a wonderful feeling...Thanks for reading my blog, have a wonderful day and good luck to all...

It's Crop Time Again

Time for another crop over at http://www.scrapadilly.com/

Long Time Since I've Blogged...

One of the things I wanted to do at the beginning of 2010 was to keep up with my blog or a daily basis...Of course, I've failed to do this...
Besides being busy with my everyday life, I had full knee replacement surgery in February...Something I thought I would bounce back from a lot sooner that I did...I'm currently in physical therapy, which is definitely helping...Although they keep telling me that I'm doing great, I personally feel that I should be more up to speed...Having seen and talked with other people that had surgery prior to me, even as far back as Thanksgiving 2009, I should take note of what I've been told by the therapist...The cane has gone to the way side and I'm able to go up and down steps normally, but with great caution...Sleeping has become easier...Most difficulty is trying to kneel down on both knees...I can accomplish bending down on one knee and getting back up again, but it's definitely a slow process...The word patience is a word that I need to practice as I try and get back to my normal life style...
Along with knee surgery, I've also had some struggles with dental work...Hopefully this too is on the mend...
I've done some scrapping and card making, but not as much as I'd like too...Attending some small crops has worked as I'm able to get up and move about more frequently...
What I'd like to start doing on my blog is posting some links to some of the scrappy things I've found, while surfing the Internet...
It's been a long day and time to relax...Have a wonderful evening and thanks for stopping in...

Sunday Update...

I told myself that with a new year I was going to do better in keeping up with my blog...I already managed to skip a day...Guess I just live one of those lives that doesn't have excitement going on it...
Manged to watch some tutorials today regarding alcohol inks...I don't know about you, but did you ever notice that our hands must be the only hands that get dirty while scrapping or stamping...I always manage to have something stuck to me or on me...I even manage to have a perfect stamped image someplace other than where it's supposed to be...You ever look at some of those amazing scrap rooms out there and most of them are white...bad color for me...I'd be afraid of getting it dirty...My room is very seldom spic n span cleaned...it's somewhat organized, but when I scrap/stamp, I sure make a mess...Guess I'm just not an all around neat person...lol...Despite all this, I enjoy what I'm doing and don't plan on quiting anytime soon...I'm still a paper scrapper...I've tried some digi, but for the time being I like the feel of everything along w/the mess...Digi just seems so perfect...and I'm definitely not perfect...But maybe, one of these days, when I get a little more understanding of PSE6 under my belt...
Well the football is back on so back to my front row seat...Have a wonderful day...

Holiday Cards

As promised, here's some of the holiday cards I've been working on...Most of them are redos...Some I just threw together and other are lifts...I really can't take the credit for any of them, as I'm sure through surfing I've seen so many cards that anything I may put together has already done by others...So thanks to all you card makers out there...

Playing Catch Up...

Once again, it's been ages since I've posted anything...Things have just been super busy around here for me...A little bit of this and a little bit of that has kept me quiet busy...I've always wanted a deck in the back of the house for some lawn furniture in the summer...It's much easier to leave the furniture there then taking it off the grass for the lawn people...So that special man in my life decided to do that for me and he did a fantastic job...It started off small and got bigger and bigger...and I luv it...I had also wanted some shelves in a closet...I felt that as we've gotten older, it's a little easier to have those staple items in area that's easier to reach than running up and down the stairs...Especially since I always forget something on the first trip...lol...So he also put some shelves in for me and they to look great...He's definitely been on a roll...

As for me, I've just been staying out of his way...lol...Actually I've been making cards out of scraps...Plus while looking for something that I knew I had, I found all kinds of fun stuff to use on Christmas Cards...Some I like better than others and I think my problem is that I'm afraid to add stuff to my cards or my layouts...Therefore I think I need to try to load it down w/stuff and then if I don't like it, I can always take it off...Of course that's before I glue it all down...

Since I'm basically caught up on things, except for cleaning, I'll be uploading some of creations in the next couple of days...

I've also signed up for another FREE Jessica Sprague...I'm looking forward to that too...Looks like I need more than 24 hours in the day, or just go without sleep...

Hands of Time

The last couple of weeks have been hectic to say the least...With everyday things going on, thinking of more stuff for my to do list, and then unexpected things, I've had little time to scrap or do much of anything else...My dad has been in and out of the hospital for the last month or so and hopefully things will be moving in a positive direction now...He's had problems with his blood pressure for as long as I can remember...But the continued high blood pressure and then low blood pressure readings have given difficulty over the last month...He's now at the Cleveland Clinic under careful watch and they think they have things where they need to be regarding his medication...Sometime today he will go to the step down unit and be monitored there for a coupe of days before being sent home...He's 86 and if you saw him on the street you would never know it...Being idle is not his thing, so he's hoping to get cut loose soon so he can go back to his way of living with some moderation to that....The end result of the problem seems to be that his body was laking fluids, therefore creating pain, discomfort, and a few other issues...According to his doctor they believe they finally have the tweaking down to a science regarding his medication and if all goes well in the next couple of days, he will be able to come home...

I just finished this LO and wanted to post it and today seemed like the perfect day. I'd like to thank Nancy P over at http://www.scrapadilly.com/ for giving me the ok to lift her LO...I new I had the perfect picture and once she posted hers, I knew I also had the perfect title...I luv to scrap and make cards, but I'm really out of sorts in the creativity department...I do so much better with a page map or lift...So once again, thanks Nancy P...

If you have a chance, stop over at http://www.scrapadilly.com/ and check us out...A great bunch of ladies and LOTS of "scrappy" things going on...Check out the dates for our September on-line crop, the scrapadilly store, the monthly crops, the great challenges and the friendly people...Hope to see you there...Thanks for taking time out to stop here at Crop, Paper, Scissors...

New Stuff

It's about time that I start posting again...I've been having a real good time, just doing my own thing and have become lax in other things...so without further ado, here are a couple of layouts that I've completed for the crop over at Scrapadilly.com
The crop is still going on and the challenges are awesome...I for one really like the color challenge and the sketch challenge...Some people are lucky to have imaginations and come up with some great stuff...Not me, I need a little extra help...If I must say so myself, I continue to go out of my box just a little more and more each time...At least I'm trying some different things and if I don't like them, I can at least say I've tried...I'm sure I'm way behind on things compared to others...As an example, I have yet to finish my acrylic album...they're probably obsolete by now...but at least I have the paper cut...might just be a small project to finish while visiting the camper...
Hopefully I'll be updating more often and thanks for stopping in and have a wonderful week...
