Photoshop Elements 6 Tour Video

Here's a GREAT video on PSE 6. It's about 20 minutes long and I found it very informative and hope you do too...

Another Snowy Day in Ohio

Another snowy day here in Ohio. I actually thought it was supposed to rain and get warmer by a few degrees. Enough of an accumulation that the snow blower needs to come out of hiding. Planning on staying in until I go to watch my grand daughter play basketball tomorrow late morning.
Trying to get some photos organized and then started thinking about my online PSE 6 class on Monday. The more I looked at some of my pictures the more excited I'm getting about the class. Have lots of ideas to make the pics look better for the LOs so I'm sure I'll be reprinting out pics in the near future.
Got some stuff packed up for the crop tomorrow night. Have about 5 LOs to finish up on. Kayla my 11 year old grand daughter will be going with me. I always enjoy that quality time. She's getting pretty good, some might even say better than me.
Came across some pictures I'd like to do LOs on from way back when they used tape all over. So hoping to scan them and do some touch up on those spots. Have to make sure I save the original so when I screw up I have something to go back to.
Actually finished a card that I started a couple of days ago. Was going good until I realized there was a black streak mark on it. Was going to toss it, but did an alteration on it. Didn't turn out too bad, but not good enough to send to anyone, so think I'll use it as a sample for future projects.
Off to get my front row seat for General Hospital.
Hope you all have a great day and a safe weekend.

Cards & LO

Here's a couple of cards I put together this afternoon...I was especially impressed as it took me about 1/2 hour for both of them. Not sure if that means I'm getting better faster or I'm getting sloppier...You be the judge...be kind, pleazzzzzzzzzze....

I just finished this LO of our dog. I've had the picture, the paper, the wording all in my head for quite some time. Just decided to finally put it all together. This took me about 45 minutes. A lot of time spent on the matting. I thought it turned out pretty good. Thanks for looking.

Tuesday's Creations

Here's the three cards that I made yesterday, but wasn't happy with them so did a take 2 on them today. Personally I think they looked bettter to me before I took the picture...I used chalk on the edges of the green card stock...The flower card I just created and again, it seems to look better before I took the picture. I used some stickles on this one...TFL...

Monday Madness

Well I mananged to stay off the message board for the most part. Had all kinds of running around to do, but spent most of my time traveling back and forth. JoAnn Fab is in liquidation, but not much there. Most was 20% off original prices which in my opinion was no big savings. Some of their scrap items were 40% off, which is normal, but you were not able to use a coupon, so again, no bargain to me. If you spent a lot of time looking through some bins for red sticker prices there were your bargains. Already marked down, with an additional 40% off. Now that's my idea of a bargain. After that it was a trip to Big Lots as I'm looking for a few more of the $1.00 albums I got lost week. Well nothing there, so off to Pat Catans. Again nothing there, but some good bargains in the bins, which I've already been through. So need to wait a few more days before going back there. Wanted to go to Target but my stomach was hungry and my feet were tired, so back home I came. By then it was time for dinner, my sister stopped over, and Hillary must have called me three times. We have a primary coming up soon. Had a few personnal calls to make and then decide it was time to make some cards. Well I managed to make three, but really not happy with any of them, so it's back to the drawing board tomorrow. Think I'm off to read my dummies book now and see what kind of trouble I can get into with that. So until tomorrow, have a great evening.

Best in Pictures

A LO that I had fun doing. This is Taylor (5) in the summer of 2007 at her house. Beautiful day outside and was just snapping away. This is my favoirte of her. I really don't have anything glued down yet, kind of was waiting to make sure this was the end result. Was thinking of adding a smidgen of stickles here and there on the flowers. Haven't decided yet. Thanks for looking...

I'm Lovin It

While babysitting the DGKs in October 2007, and after getting the 4 girls off to school, George and I would head off to McDonald's for our "special" time. This is one of many pics of him having fun. I keep telling him I don't want him to ever grow up. TFL

Points to Ponder

I've always lacked confidence in the things that I do. I tend to spend more time researching, purchasing the stash, organizing, and all that stuff before I actually get into the project itself. More and more I'm beginning to feel that all this prep time isn't helping the end result. Am I being to hard on myself, am I expecting more with the end result??? I just don't know. I want to be able to step back and say WOW that's AWESOME. I have a lot of the bells and whistles, I do a lot of reading, looking, more reading, but yet if I was just browsing and came across my work, I would just keep going. There's nothing there to catch my eye. I'm beginning to wonder, will there ever be, am I just stuck in a rut, what more can I do??? I play everything out in my head and it's all of the things that I want it to be, but then when the LO or card is done o whatever I'm working on it's exactly as I had it played out to be but there's no zip in my do da. Just gives me things to think about and how to improve. Hope this makes sense to someone other than me. Thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings and have a wonderful day.

TGIF because

I don't have any major plans for the next couple of days and I'm hopping to get caught up with all the unfinished little projects on my scrap table. Need to create a couple of cards and get them in the mail, finish journalling on a couple of my pages, and sorting through some tings that I found in my mother's sew stuff that my dad was going to dispose of. Which then gives me the idea to take pics of that and do a LO on my goodies. The wheels are turning again which means something else is going to the wayside.
Need to find some time to catch up with the threads on the www.allmomentsremembered.com MB. I missed the SCH aka Scrap Chat Hour last night so need to see what I missed.
Have a wonderful Friday and stay safe.

Busy Days

It's been quite busy for me the last couple of days. Along with my computer updates my dad also got a new computer and we've been trying to help him get organized too. I finally re-installed PSE6 and Cricut Design Studio. I now need to do the upgrade for the cricut. If ayone needs that link I posted that info yesterday. Trying to figure out how to get MS Word and Excel from XP into Vista. I've looked an searched, but think I'm out of luck, which means I need plan B. Not sure just what that is, but that's my next plan of action.
Good things come in little packages and I just got my DUMMIES book for PSE6 in the mail today so some more good stuff to read. Also placed my order for the latest frenzy the Fiskars Scalloped Boarder Punch. If you haven't ordered your yet, check out http://www.allmomentsremembered.com/.
Need to catch up on some cards and have a LO planned out in my head so would like to get moving on those things too.
With all this excitement I mange to put aside a couple of hours to play backgammon with the "Ghost." Now here's a person that should be in Vegas. If you know anything about the game then you can relate to the double dice rolls. I'm not just talking about snake eyes either. Never in my life have I seen anyone that rolls double sixes as much as she does. I think she brings her own dice to the pogo tables. That along with the fact that I truly believe all these online games favor the person with a higher rating no matter what. What really puts the frosting on the cake is that she claims to have "taught" me how to play. Well if you call telling me roll the dice, move your pieces, get to the other end, and kill as you go or be killed "teaching" then I guess she is the responsible party. Now we all know that in the majority of games there is usually a strategy to playing. Well I wasn't informed on that part of it. So for 2 years it has been exactly as I said, kill or be killed. She's one tuff cookie to beat, which is far and few between, but I've got news for her, when she wasn't looking I stole her dice.
So everyone, that's my babbling for the day and I hope you all have a great evening.

Puzzle

This is one of my favorite pictures of my Granddaughter Elle. It was taken in her back yard last summer. I had fun time with this as I am way out of my comfort zone. I'm pleased with how it turned out and I'm already thinking of other things I can do with this same concept.

Finally Made It

For those of you that have kept up with my blog, on a daily basis, and for those new comers, you'll notice that I've lost a few days in posting. They say when it rains it pours and that it sure did. One mintue I was on the computer and the next I was out buying a new PCU. The good news is that I had just done a back up about a week ago, so 90% of my "stuff" was still here. The bad news is that my email address book along with saved emails, is floating around somewhere in cyber space. Along with a new PCU is Vista. Having used Windows XP for several years, there's definately some things that I need to get used to. Vista does not support Outlook Express and that is what I use for email. They do support Windows Mail, which is quite the same as Outlook. It's just taking time to put the bits and pieces back together and get to a place where I feel comfortable again. Have spent the last couple of days reloading some programs and cleaning out my favorites and all that good stuff. Hopefully I'll be back to full speed by the weekend. Thanks to the ladies at www.allmomentsremembered.com for their cheering through this process. Oh yeah can't forget to mention one of my daily blog readers "Casper." She told me to hurry up and get things together as she misses reading all my bla bla bla. Have a wonderful evening and it's good to be back.

Flat Ribbon Ties - Scrapbooking or Cards

Here's a great short youtube video on how to make ties that will lay flat on your layouts, your cards or some of your other projects. Very easy and looks very sharp. Enjoy

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day to you and yours. Enjoy those special plans and if your like me just chilling out at home enjoy that too. Going to try and get some "stuff" done around here, plus some time to play with a few things I just had to have from Catans. Going to try and get some PSE 6 reading in too. Decided to buy the Dummie's book. Found a good price for book and shipping on Ebay. I'm headed off to www.allmomentsremembered.com to check out the MB and store. Have a wonderful day.

Every Day's a Holiday

Since I retired in August 2007, I've really been enjoying myself doing things at my own pace. Catching up on all those things that didn't get done while I working, trying to finish some of those projects, and of course starting new projects. My days and evenings go by quickly. Still lots of things on my to do list and in time they will get done. Seems like I have a little more patience now with things. Trying to get more comfortable with PSE 6 has become my biggest obstacle. Despite all the videsos I've blogged, the class I took, the reading and more reading, I'm still quite the novice. Some frustration setting in, but I'm not giving up. Time for more reading. Have a wonderful day.

I Love a Great Bargain - You???

Two albums I picked up at one of many Big Lots here in Ohio...Couldn't pass up the $1.00 each. They actually have the pages in the books and all I have to do is add the photos. This is great for my DGKs that are learning to scrap. Can't beat that price. Now on a mission to find more. Thanks for looking.

RAK from Patti at www.allmomentsremembered.com

Much more in this RAK than I thought I had won. Infact I just realized that some of the stamps are hiding in the pic. Thanks again Patti

Treacherous Tuesday

Snow, snow, and more snow here in Ohio. Driving conditions are quite hazardous. Some of the local business in our area are closing their doors early because of the weather. I just received a phone call that said freeway driving is at 40 MPH and crawling along. From inside the warmth of the house I hear snow blowers buzzing away. Six more weeks of winter they say. Brrrrrrrrrrrrr...Looking forward to spring and summer which brings camping, warmer weather, hummingbirds, flowers, the smell of fresh cut grass, and many other wonderful things. Have a wonderful Tuesday.

Enjoy the tutorial on how to create scalloped edges in Photoshop.

LO for AMR Challenge

http://www.allmomentsremembered.com/ challenge to use your "stash." Pictures of flowers are from my yard, summer 2007, paper has been in my stash for ages, along w/the letters. If you enlarge the LO you'll be able to see the bee in the bottom photo. TFL

Pirate LO

LO of my DGS, George, for Halloween 2007. This is for a challenge at www.allmomentsremember.com where we have to use from our stash. Didn't realize I had the pirate ship in my stash, along with everything else. Didn't realize I had a lot of other stuff in my stash, so this is a great challenge for using up some "stuff." The pic is from October 2007. I was pleased at how it turned out. Thanks for stopping by mattey.

Artist of the Month

My DGD, Sydney, was chosen as Artist of the Month at school for her artistic talent. The art teacher chose one boy and one girl in her 3rd grade school for that honor. The picture was then on display and at the end of the month the teacher matted and framed the art for the student to take home for all to enjoy. Great job Sydney. I'm very proud of you.

Crop Cards

Here's a couple of cards I made at a crop yesterday. I really like the one on the left cuz the cake one makes me hungryyyyyyyyy for chocolate...The demonstrator showed us how to make our ties perfect. Just hope I remember the how to part. Thanks for looking...

AMR Challenge

Here's three different cards I made for a challenge at http://www.allmomentsremembered.com/. We had to use our stash of at least 6 months old or older. I have had most of this paper, ribbon, and eyelets for well over a year now. On the first card I used a page from a scrappin calendar Santa got me like 2 years ago. It has 365 different pages for the whole year, I just cut off the date and whatever else I didn't want and I was good to go. Comes in handy for when the grandkids want to scrap different occassions. Thanks for looking.

Ribbon Rack

Here's my ribbon rack that a good friend made for me. Now I need to find the wall space to mount it on. I have room on the top to put stuff on and on the bottom also. The posts are supposed to be even on both sides, but I thought if I had some embellishments that were longer I could offset them and hang them there. Will have to play around with it a bit more before I decide which way I like it better. He just finished this for me and I was excited to share. Thanks for stopping in.

TGIF

Thank goodness...I don't have any places to go, lots of things to do, and people to see on the www.allmomentsremembered.com MB...Just where do I start...Think I'll just write everything down on pieces of paper and hope I pull out the fun things to do before the housework things to do...I have some cards to post and a couple of LOs that need finishing touches on them...So hope you stop back to take a look at all the goodies...Have a wonderful Friday...

TMK Thursday - General Hospital

Inbetween all the things that I had on my to do list, I found time to play catch up on my favorite soap "General Hospital." Once I started working years ago, I would catch bits and pieces of it here and there but would always check the soap summaries. Even after 20+ years, don't think I missed to much. Anyhow, if there's any GH soap fans out there, please post your comments with who you think the TMK is. I'm clueless...someone connected to all the people involved in one way or another, someone we know or knew in the past, someone that is supposed to be dead but not, male, female who knows anymore. They've really got me stumped on this one.
Don't forget the Scrap Chat Hour aka SCH at http://www.allmomentsremembered.com/ tonite 8:55 PM EST. Come one come all for a fun evening. I have a card crop to go to this evening, but I'm making sure I'm home in time to chat with the ladies. Hope you can make it, if not please make sure you stop in when you can and join us.
Still looking at Photoshop Tutorials, working on LOs, making cards, and all that other good stuff.
Have a great evening.

Making a List

The last couple of weeks have been hectic and I haven't done much scrappin or card making. Tomorrow afternoon I need to go with my dad to the Cleveland Clinic and when I get home it's going to scrap till I drop. I have a card crop to go to tomorrow evening so hopefully I'll get some new ideas for Valentine's Day. Think I need to put a rush on making those cards as it's just around the corner. My DGKs just love getting mail. Then my calendar is clear until Monday evening, so I plan on playing catch up on my LOs, doing a challenge at www.allmomentsremembered.com, organizing my ribbons and the CS I just bought and playing some more with PSE 6. Everyone have a great evening and see you all again tomorrow. Thanks for stopping in.

How to Save Your Photoshop Brush - Video Tutorial

Another tutorial for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy

Overwhelmed Tuesday

Today was my PSE 6 class and all I can say is I am OVERWHELMED. I mean that in a good way. So much to do and so little time to do it in. This program will do whatever you sent your expectations to and then some. The class was 3 hours and it was awesome. All those video tutorials I've been watching are finally starting to make sense. What I need to do now is learn the capabilities of my tools. I have the basics and now the rest is up to me. Off to practice and watch more tutorials. Have a great day.

Flowing your Text in Photoshop

I found this to be really interesting and neat. Enjoy!!!

Monday Monday

Today was a busy day. Up early to pack up stuff to go to my scrap crop. Packed up a few things last night but not completely. Was a good day scrappin. I didn't complete any LOs but I have 4 that need finishing touches on them from home. I was pleased with how things turned out and the extra help I did get. After the crop I took a ride to the paper store. Needed some cardstock. $1.00 a pound and you can't beat it. I just picked up a grabbed a handful of the colors available. This way if I run out I have a back up supply and I know the color will match. Amazing how any of the colors if not purchased at the same time can be off a smidgen. After that I found out that there was a Hobby Lobby and a JoAnns in the same neighborhood, so stopped at both places. Believe it or not my wallet is not any lighter. Then headed off to my youngest daughter and SIL's house for dinner. Had a nice visit there and here I am. No place like home. Tomorrow I'll be student learning Photoshop Elements 6. I was supposed to have the class last Friday but due to the weather conditions the instructor cancelled till tomorrow. Definately looking forward to that. Will be posting more tutorials and also some more LOs in the near future. I have another Valentine Card completed so be on the lookout. Have a wonderful evening and thanks for stopping by.

Teeth Whitening in Photoshop - Enjoy

Month of Love

Decided it was time for me to start working on some Valentine's Day cards for my DGC. This is the only one I've accomplished so far. I used my Cricut Basic George cartridge to do the hearts. Took me a few cuts before I got the exact sizes I wanted, but I'm sure nothing will go to waste. I was happy with the outcome.

Shadowy Saturday

Well Groundhog Phil saw his shadow today which means 6 more weeks of winter...brrrrrrrrrrrrrr... Actually hasn't been too bad here in Ohio. We're going in spurts. More windy than I can remember. I actaully saw some of my spring bulbs peeking out at me yesterday. Can hardly wait to hang out sheets on a windy spring day. Smell so fresh when they go back on the bed. With warmer weather means garage sales and flea markets. Looking forward to finding some new treasures. Of course need to get rid of some of the old ones to make room.
Started making some cards yesterday and going to try and finish those up today. I sure did make a mess with just the one card. Need to get moving on another LO.
Well I'm off and running, make that walking. Have a great day.

Friday, February 1, 2008

Here's a LO of when I first got sworn in for the Board of Education. The second picture is when I received a placque from the Superintent of the District for having served as Board President for 3 consecutive years. I'm currently still on the board but not holding a current office. TFL...It looked pretty good to me until i got ready to post it..now I'm think that maybe it's kinda too uniform, too structured.

Fabulous Friday

Fabulous because it's Friday and I just found this link for tutorials for Photoshop that I'd like to share. You might recall that Santa got me PSE 6 for Christmas and I've been trying to learn the program. Today was the day I was going to be taking a class, but the weather here in Ohio has other plans, so that is beeing cancelled until Tuesday. This link is something else I can take a gander at and hopefully have a little more knowledge prior to Tuesday. Looks like it has lots of neat stuff so now you know where I'll be spending most of today. Enjoy!!!!
